The former High Level railway station

The High Level station is still standing. It lies about 100 yards to the north of the new station. The High Level trains ran from Pontypool to Neath. The passenger service on this line closed on June 15th, 1964. Many of us will remember standing on Robertstown Bridge when these trains passed underneath; for a moment we would lose sight of each other in a cloud of steam and smoke.
