The Biology teacher at this time was Miss Alice Prothero, but she is not present
in the photograph.
Although her father was born in Aberaman the family lived in Pontypridd.
She attended Pontypridd County School 1903–08,
and then U.C. Cardiff 1908–13 graduating with a B.Sc. in Botany. She taught at
Aberdare Girls’ County School from 1916 to 1956,
and was appointed Senior Mistress
on 1/9/1923. She died in Pontypridd in 1979 just a few weeks short of her 90th
birthday.
