The Memorial Plaque, dedicated to those who fell in the first World War, hung in the School Halls at Trecynon & Cwmdare Road. It can now be found at the Aberdare Community School. You can read the list of names inscribed on it, either from the transcript or from the photograph.

A translation of the Welsh inscription at the bottom of the plaque is as follows: ‘Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends’.
