NOTE: The number of boys presented for the examination for school certificate stage is this year about half the usual number on account of age limit restrictions and other reasons. Percentage number of successes at the Boys’ Grammar School is 79.4.

School Certificate was taken at the age of 16, but to gain the certificate, passes in a minimum number of subjects, and in specified combinations, were required.
The Supplementary Certificate was usually taken after one year in the sixth form and was awarded in separate subjects.
