This page contains the programme of the concerts given by the National Youth Orchestra of Wales in 1960.
They took place in Llandrindod Wells, Newtown, the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff, Neath, Treorchy, Barry and Swansea. There
was also played in a BBC Television Concert performance.
In 1960 there was just one pupil from our school in the orchestra,
the French Horn player Terry Johns.
In the ’cello section there is a player named Gwilym Ambrose. Quite possibly the son of the former headmaster of ABGS,
Gwilym Prichard Ambrose, who by 1959 was in post as Principal at Caerleon Training College.
